Decatur Garden Tour 2010

Event Dates: September 25, 2010 - September 26, 2010
Decatur Garden Tour/Currie Garden

The 2010 Decatur Garden Tour is co-sponsored by the Oakhurst Community Garden Project and the Decatur Preservation Alliance.

Step into autumn and explore 16 gardens both private and public across the charmingly eclectic Decatur and Oakhurst communities. From the stately and formal to the artsy and whimsical, and everything in between, the tour blooms with ideas to feed gardening inspiration all year. The Saturday evening tour features Ryan Gainy's garden.  His internationally known garden covers three small city lots in Decatur, but seems much larger because of the many garden rooms and passageways. Numerous water features delight the senses and the variety of plants is wondrous.

Works by local artists will also be displayed at the Decatur Garden Tour Marketplace in Harmony Park on Sunday, Sept 26 from noon - 5 p.m.

All proceeds are shared by the Oakhurst Community Garden Project and the Decatur Preservation Alliance and used to support their operations and programs.

The 2010 Decatur Garden Tour honors the memory of Sally Wylde who died on August 19, 2010. Wylde was the co-Founder and first executive director of the Oakhurst Community Garden Project and Decatur Preservation Alliance board member.

Advance tickets may be purchased now online and beginning September 14 at stores throughout Decatur. For more information and learn more about the gorgeous gardens on display, visit the 2010 Decatur Garden Tour site.
