About Us

Ever wonder what's in a name?

Exploring our roots

  • Dāna (Pali, Sanskrit: दान ) is a Sanskrit and Pali term meaning "generosity" or "giving". In Buddhism, it also refers to the practice of cultivating generosity.
  • Danu: Celtic goddess who was the mother of the Tuatha De Danann.
  • Dann (English) the valley of a meadow, and it may mean the dweller of that valley.
  • In Arabic, "Dana" means "white pearl."
  • In Farsi, "Dana" means "wise."

Danatopia interweaves nature, nurture, beauty and inherent wisdom to bring us closer to our own modern, enlightened state of being.

Our mission

This mindset expands to all facets of everyday living - our livelihoods, parenting, sustainable housing, green gardening, and caring for those in need, to name but a few - with the aim of encouraging more interconnectedness and awareness of each other and our world.
