...when you go to the grocery store and avoid half the aisles, but still come home with bagloads of fruits, veggies, meat and nuts.
...when you realize there's less recycling in the bin because you're using fewer boxes and containers of packaged/processed foods. (An earth-friendly benefit!)
...when you find yourself loading up your bowl of goats milk yogurt (some Paleos do enjoy dairy occasionally) with nuts, berries and maybe a sprinkling of flaxseed - but no granola.
...when you start ramping up your square-foot garden to keep up with your increased veggie intake.
...when anything with coconut milk makes your toes curl with joy.
...when it no longer feels weird to order - or eat - that burger without the bun.
...when you start buying different types of seed or nut flours you didn't even know existed before.
...when you find yourself trying to convince your toddler that quinoa is "special rice." (And to your relief, she likes it!)
...when you find yourself loading up an omelet with just about anything that could conceivably fit inside one.
...when you find yourself suddenly liking certain vegetables that you felt "meh" about before.
...when a grain-free, dairy-free chocolate cupcake sounds like it might be yummy - and it really is!
...when you realize you're converting fat into muscle in your workouts - while still ingesting fats.
...when your dinner plate is suddenly a lot more colorful - no more beige food!
C'mon, Paleos - chime in here! I've been incorporating the Paleo diet into my life for 3 weeks and have seen many positive changes in how I feel, eat, cook and shop. I'm sure those of you who've been on the diet longer than me can add your own observations into the mix.
I would love to read and share them - please leave a comment!
