There's a free art movement happening every Friday in the Atlanta area. It's a version of geocaching, where art items are placed in public places that are noted on a Google map listing for seekers to find and capture.
What's great about the process is that anyone can participate, which gives artists the opportunity to get their work out there in a fun and democratic way, and those with a GPS or good knowledge of where things are around town can score something new!
The instructions are simple. On the Free Art Friday Atlanta's Facebook page, it says:
E mail fafatlanta@gmail.com by 9:00 am on Fridays with the general location of where you put your art. Photos of the pieces would be great.
The areas where art can be found will be published to a Google map and posted on Facebook and Twitter.
